Château Laniote 2014

Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé

2014 was a classic vintage. After the difficulties of 2013 due to very particular climatic conditions, we returned to more clement weather: a variable, complicated spring and early summer required us to be especially vigilant in the vineyard. Happily, the winds changed and good weather in August brought renewed confidence. The grapes matured under an Indian summer which lasted through October, allowing us to patiently wait until October 8 to begin picking. One of the latest harvests in the past ten years…
After 18 months of aging, the wine has delivered on all its early promise: a beautiful deep garnet color and balanced, finely-wooded aromas with notes of red fruits, a bit of black currant and a touch of violets; in the mouth there is great balance and finesse, a fine mouth-filling sensation of richness and depth with a long finish displaying tannins that are ripe, tight, well-incorporated and smooth. This is a wine of great class built on precision and harmony.
