Château Laniote 2021
Appellation Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé
2021 was a complicated year, with capricious weather… The winter was mild and rainy, and the vines started their growth particularly early. However, this growth was slowed down by an intense cold spell in April followed by cool and wet May and June. The return of more classic weather conditions at the beginning of July triggered the grape changing of color and the ripening took place under a sunny and particularly dry end of summer. The sunny and cool after-season made it possible to wait serenely for the 1st of October to attack the harvest.
Composition : Merlot : 26 % Cabernet franc 18¨% Cabernet Sauvignon 8
These climatic conditions gave a very classic vintage, with aromas of red fruits, mentholated and floral notes. On the palate, the slow and fresh evolution with integrated and very silky tannins are characteristic of the depth of the clay-limestone soils of Laniote.
